Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Specialist based in Lafayette, Indiana. The role is primarily focused on handling accounting functions within a non-profit organization, with a mix of remote and onsite work. The Accounting Specialist will be instrumental in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with audits.

Responsibilities:

• Handling daily financial transactions such as verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts receivables' and payables' data.

• Using Accounting Software Systems, particularly QuickBooks Desktop, for managing financials.

• Processing accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) transactions.

• Ensuring the timely communication with clients or donors for invoice and payment processing.

• Reconciling accounts and preparing financial reports.

• Assisting with auditing activities by coordinating with external accountants.

• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, adhering to nonprofit accounting standards.

• Supporting the finance team in achieving organizational goals.

• Utilizing Microsoft Excel for financial computations and reporting. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required

• Must have a solid understanding of Accounting Functions

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is essential

• Auditing skills are necessary for this role

• Must be able to carry out Billing Functions effectively

• Proficiency in QuickBooks is a prerequisite

• Ability to manage Payable Invoices is required

• Must have experience dealing with Aged Receivables

• Familiarity with Aging Accounts and Aging Reports is necessary

• Must be proficient in Excel Formulas

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required for this role
