Description

We are assisting an established boutique law firm based in Walnut Creek is seeking to add a litigation associate to their growing legal team! The ideal candidate has 5 or more years of experience in commercial law on the plaintiff side, drafting motions, handling depositions and has experience going to trial in cases involving partnership disputes, breach of contract, etc. This position is 5x on site and is contract to perm. Responsibilities:

• Conducting initial case evaluations and investigations to understand the scope and context of the case.

• Developing case strategies that align with the client's goals and objectives.

• Drafting a wide range of litigation documents, including complaints, motions, discovery requests, and responses.

• Regularly interacting with clients and updating them on case progress.

• Manage commercial litigation cases from investigation to trial, settlement, or appeal.

• Analyze cases, develop litigation strategies, draft litigation documents.

• Represent clients in pre-trial proceedings (e.g., depositions, mediations).

• Conduct legal research, handle discovery processes.

• Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients.

• Regularly update clients on case and trial progress.

  Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in litigation, CA Barred

• Proficiency in Corporate & Commercial law is needed

• Must have a strong understanding of Business & Commercial Law

• Experience in discovery and depositions

• Experience in trial is highly preferred
