Provides HR resourcing support.

Detailed Description

Incumbents apply in-depth knowledge in a specific area of specialization. Work is performed within established professional standards and practices. Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors and a considerable degree of judgement. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results may have a negative impact on the divisions/departments operations, schedules, and/or performance goals. Works under minimum Supervision. Seeks approval from others on matters outside of job/role scope. Receives instruction on specific assignment objectives and possible solutions. Unusual problems are solved jointly with manager. Work is reviewed for application of sound technical judgment. May lead a work group or project team consisting of technical and support staff. Builds internal and external relationships, with emphasis on those that facilitate the achievement of job/role accountabilities, such as relationships with key suppliers, customers and internal service.

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Plans projects and other matters relating to obtaining the most qualified people to successfully staff Celesticas growing organizations.

  • Develops recruitment strategies to achieve required skill levels for Celesticas businesses.

  • Consults with management personnel to assess staffing needs, develops specific plans, and actively participates in behavorial based screening/selection process to fulfill requirements.

  • Develops and conducts training programs for managers designed to improve recruiting results (i.e., hiring in alignment with skills, attributes, behavior requirements, process efficiencies and reduce turnover).

  • Manages external relationships with recruitment vendors and candidate sourcing channels (i.e., college campus personnel, recruitment agencies, community outreach activities, etc.)

  • Tracks and reports on resourcing results and develops/implements plans for continuous process improvements.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • Sound knowledge of government legislation impacting the practice of human resources management.

  • Sound knowledge of the company HR policies and practices, particularly the global and regional staffing policies.

  • Ability to consult with a wide variety of internal customers and provide an end-to-end resourcing service.

  • Ability to develop appropriate staffing strategies for a variety of needs including recruitment projects for a whole unit or division, as well as assisting individual managers with open positions up to and including Manager levels.

  • Ability to conduct thorough behavioural interviews up to and including Manager levels.

  • Ability to project manage and time manage effectively to ensure timely closure of open positions.

  • Ability to manage sensitive employee information in a confidential manner.

  • Knowledge of computer applications and the ability to accurately perform tasks in some or all of the following applications: Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, and Visio and Applicant Tracking software.

  • Intermediate level of proficiency in most of the Personal Attributes and Interpersonal Competencies, as well as intermediate proficiency in two Business Competencies, Project Management and Organizational Awareness (refer to the Celestica Competency Framework)

Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position are generally performed in good working conditions.

  • Occasional exposure to elements such as noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, etc.

  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.

  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.

  • Occasional travel may be required.

Typical Experience

  • Three to six years relevant staffing and human resources experience.

Typical Education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Educational requirements may vary by geography.
