Job Title: Technician Repair

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Technician Repair to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of duties, including receiving vacuum bagged products, monitoring autoclave processes, and maintaining equipment. The candidate should be capable of working independently and within a team, ensuring high-quality standards are met.

Responsibilities

  • Receive vacuum bagged product from Layup department and load parts in Autoclave, utilizing space and cure temperature resourcefully.

  • Check all bags for leaks prior to running to ensure product quality.

  • Monitor and record Autoclave chart cure in and out times. Record thermocouple and vacuum hose locations.

  • Maintain knowledge of when to vent or hold vacuum to compensate for occasional leaks in bagging material.

  • Accurately record, organize, and archive all related cure data.

  • Maintain the Autoclave fixtures and racks as well as any wires and hoses that may need repair.

  • Properly prepare tools and molds for Layup.

  • Unbag and demold parts.

  • Visually check own work prior to submitting to inspection.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

  • Accurately record all paperwork and labor entries associated with the position.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

  • Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

  • Working knowledge of Aerospace specifications and standards.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.

  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Knowledge of Epicor software.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with composite materials, mechanical assembly, machine operation, and autoclave processes.

  • Familiarity with cleanroom protocols, repair techniques, and vacuum fixtures.

  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and forklifts.

  • Experience with blueprint reading, inspection, packaging, and general maintenance.

  • Troubleshooting skills.

Work Environment

You will be working in a large, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility within teams of 3-5 working cells. The dress code is business casual. The position involves 3rd shift hours from Sunday to Thursday, 11 PM to 7:30 AM, with potential for Saturdays. Training will be conducted on the 1st shift for 2-3 weeks before transitioning to the 3rd shift.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of LADSON, South Carolina.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.70
