Due to our continued growth, we are now hiring an Operational Excellence Engineer for our team based in Lachen, Switzerland.

The Operational Excellence Engineer actively collaborates with all departments to enhance and streamline existing processes, thereby fostering sustainable operational improvements in safety, quality, and productivity. This pivotal role entails leading and managing LEAN/Continuous Improvement (CI) projects and teams, ensuring the integration of continuous improvement methodologies into new processes. Moreover, the Operational Excellence Engineer plays a crucial role in cultivating a LEAN/CI culture by engaging functional leaders, exempt, and non-exempt employees across all manufacturing operations and other departments.

Main responsibilities:

  • Act as an expert in the use of the Lean tools with a comprehensive knowledge of the philosophy to successfully lead and manage completion of operational excellence projects within a given timeframe to meet the department or facility goals in productivity, quality, efficiency, and safety.

  • Prepare, deliver and track Lean/CI training and coaching to employees.

  • Support proactive performance management and the daily monitoring of KPIs through active participation and shop floor engagement. Support weekly and monthly performance monitoring, analysis and reporting as well as monthly reporting of completed LEAN and CI projects.

  • Identify LEAN/CI needs of assigned departments and develop implementation plans with department supervisors/managers. Plan initiatives to tackle the identified opportunities.

  • Lead exempt and non-exempt employees assigned to CI teams in LEAN disciplines and processes to accomplish assigned stated OPEX projects. Responsible and accountable for Project team meeting or/and exceeding project goals.

  • Support Commercialization efforts through personal engagement and Lean team member efforts to optimize new and changed products and technologies.

  • Collaborate with colleagues in EMEA and North America to align best practices in the global supply chain.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree ideally in Production / Manufacturing / Industrial Engineering

  • Previous experience in cosmetics, or other FMCG industries would be of benefit

  • High level of analytical skills – ability to structurally analyze both practical and theoretical problems

  • Strong computer literacy skills, Microsoft tools, PowerBI

  • Lean / Six Sigma, Project- / Change Management

  • Master of the OEE concept

  • SAP (ECC) experience an advantage

  • German (C2 or higher) and English (B2 or higher)

  • Ability to lead and engage cross-functional teams
