The Climate Pollution Reduction Program (CPRP) *within the Department of Ecology is looking to fill a *Greenhouse Gas Reporting and Verification Engineering Lead (Environmental Engineer 5) *position. This position is located in our Headquarters Office in Lacey, WA{rel="nofollow"}.{rel="nofollow"} Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station. Washington has been collecting data on greenhouse gas emissions from large facilities in the state since 2012. These data are an important measure of our economy's emissions over time and have underpinned several of the state's monitoring and regulatory programs, including most significantly, the Cap-and-Invest Program under the landmark 2021 Climate Commitment Act. The *Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reporting and Verification Section is responsible for collecting, publishing, and ensuring the quality of the state's reported greenhouse gas data.
As the Greenhouse Gas Reporting and Verification Engineering Lead, you will develop robust engineering analyses for industrial facilities to ensure accurate, high-quality greenhouse gas emissions data. As the senior engineer on the team, you'll establish verification methods and protocols for new sources and sectors, as well as provide mentoring and instruction to other engineers on the team. Through this work, you'll also build positive relationships with the regulated industries to work in partnership to reduce emissions.

Program Mission: The Climate Pollution Reduction Program's (CPRP's) mission is to implement policies and programs to reduce carbon emissions in the state of Washington so that the state meets its statutory greenhouse gas emission limits. The CPRP focuses long term, requiring creative and strategic decision making for implementation to achieve broad statewide and interstate success reducing carbon emissions in the state of Washington so residents have a healthy environment and climate.
Tele-work options for this position: *This position will have flexibility of a hybrid schedule, empowering work from home and office, providing less time in traffic and shrinking your carbon footprint.
