Entergy Safety Supervisor in Labadieville, Louisiana

Job Summary

The purpose of the Safety Supervisor position is to provide safety program development and execution, as well as oversight of safety specialists. This position enables organizational focus on evaluation and enhancement of employee and contractor safety programs, initiatives, and accountability to build and maintain programs required for a significant capital work portfolio.

The primary role of the incumbent will include:

  • Daily oversight of safety specialists’ activities, execution of work and reporting.

  • Clear understanding and interpretation of OSHA regulations and Entergy safe work rules and work practices.

  • Analysis of employee and contractor safety data for gap identification and closure.

  • Lead root-cause analysis and causal determination teams for safety related events and injuries.

  • Leadership of Safety Advisory Boards, employee teams, and other safety initiatives.

  • Leadership and team building with state and region management to foster buy-in for safety improvement initiatives.

  • Monitoring and execution of safety trend reports for program development and execution.

  • Serve on the Distribution Condition Report Group (CRG) for corrective action ownership and closure of safety related CAs.

  • Specific assignments that may affect all or individual OpCos including specific safety training, updates, and workshops.

  • Administrative activities including approvals of time, expense, performance appraisals, fleet, etc.

  • Leadership of enterprise safety initiatives across the system as assigned.

  • Develop and coordinate effective storm response plans for emergency response efforts.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Leads a regular review of safety successes, gaps and closure of corrective actions.

  • Partners with state and local leadership ensure that safety resources are efficiently planned/scheduled for the highest value work (including critical task oversight).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum education required of the position

  • Technical degree or equivalent work experience

Minimum experience required of the position

  • 4 years of related work experience

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

  • 4 years - transmission or distribution (T&D) line or engineering experience, (T&D) supervisory experience, or equivalent experience including effective safety leadership.

Any certificates, licenses, etc . required for the position

  • Safety Disignation of CST, COSS, COSM, ASP, CUSP, CSP or the ability to achieve one or more of these designations within 60-90 days of job entry.
