The Construction and Manufacturing Team supports all of Haskell's delivery groups across the company and the projects throughout the United States. The Construction and Manufacturing Team is responsible for providing the field management personnel, from the craft worker to the Project Superintendent. The Construction and Manufacturing Team also provides the team member with logistical support; including but not limited to establishing per diem rates, company trucks for superintendents, and the coordination of arrival for team members as needed on the project. The Construction and Manufacturing Team provides continual training for our team members to support their development from entry-level craft workers, via in-house/online courses, to local jurisdiction apprenticeship programs. Haskell assists with working your way up through the ranks, you'll find new ways to use both your mind and your hands to get the job done. Joining our Construction and Manufacturing Team will enable you to build the buildings on which people depend; collaborating with your team to overcome obstacles and fix problems on the job site using your skills. Strong networks are formed on construction projects because everyone on the team depends on each and every team member to get the job done. As a Pipe Layer, you will be responsible for assembling and constructing pipe systems for storm and sanitary sewers, drains, and water mains. You'll ensure proper pipe elevation, alignment, and connection while operating various tools and equipment to achieve the necessary trench depth and pipe installation. Your responsibilities will include: Align, position, and connect pipes. * Check slopes using levels or lasers to ensure proper alignment. * Cut pipes to required lengths and seal joints using gasket material, mechanical restraint systems, or adhesives. * Dig and grade trenches to the desired depth, using hand tools or trenching equipment. * Install and repair sewer and stormwater pipe systems. * Lay out pipe routes and follow blueprints or supervisor instructions. * Use magnetic or radio indicators to locate existing pipes for repair. * Install and use instruments like lasers, grade rods, and transit levels. * Operate mechanized equipment such as trucks, loaders, backhoes, and more. To thrive in this role, you'll need: * High school diploma. * Knowledge of underground pipe systems, including their construction, repair, and tools. * Understanding of required tools and equipment. * Control and operation of systems and equipment. * Knowledge of construction methods and materials for pipe systems.
