The Construction and Manufacturing Team supports all of Haskell's delivery groups across the company and the projects throughout the United States. The Construction and Manufacturing Team is responsible for providing the field management personnel, from the craft worker to the Project Superintendent. The Construction and Manufacturing Team also provides the team member with logistical support; including but not limited to establishing per diem rates, company trucks for superintendents, and the coordination of arrival for team members as needed on the project. The Construction and Manufacturing Team provides continual training for our team members to support their development from entry-level craft workers, via in-house/online courses, to local jurisdiction apprenticeship programs. Haskell assists with working your way up through the ranks, you'll find new ways to use both your mind and your hands to get the job done.
In this role, you will be responsible for the layout and fit of structural and miscellaneous fabricated products.
Your responsibilities will include:
Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding, applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining weld shrinkage, and welding techniques
Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together
Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding
Sets up equipment and welds parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment
May assemble parts by bolting
May repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts using a cutting torch, straightening press, and hand-tools
To thrive in this role, you'll need:
Four years of experience
Certification in Tack Welding required
Prefer Welding Certification in 3G position
Rate information using standards that can be measured or checked
Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy
Look at flat drawings, pictures, and blueprints and visualize how they would look as solid objects with height, width, and depth
See detail in objects or drawings and recognize slight differences in shapes or shadings
Work easily and skillfully with hands
Ability to read shop drawings
Ability to comprehend weld procedures and weld symbols
Regular attendance, prompt and dependable
Ability to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions independently
Ability to perform moderate physical work, may be required to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly, climbing up on and balance on ladders, scaffolding, or stairs; performing such activities as bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting and graphing for up to five (5) hours without sitting
Ability to see well (either naturally or with correction); use hands and arms to reach for, grasp, and manipulate objects
