Description

We are looking for a qualified Payroll Clerk to assist in all activities regarding our employee compensation in our HR department. The person will undertake a variety of tasks such as entering payroll information, calculating wages, making payments, and ensuring employees receive their pay on time.

Responsibilities:

• Collect, compile, and enter payroll data into the payroll system.

• Maintain and update employees' payroll records such as changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, and job title.

• Verify timekeeping records and consult employees about any discrepancies.

• Process and record payroll and payroll tax transactions.

• Answer employees’ questions about pay stubs, withholdings, direct deposit, or other payroll matters.

• Process and issue employee paychecks and statements of earnings and deductions.

• Generate reports detailing earnings, taxes, running regular payroll audits.

• Stay updated with the latest changes in legislation governing private sector employment and payroll matters.

  Requirements

• High School diploma; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or a similar field preferred.

• Proven experience as a payroll clerk or payroll manager.

• Familiarity with general accounting principles.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, payroll software, and other applicable systems.

• Detail-oriented and high degree of accuracy.

• Good ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

• Excellent numerical and interpersonal skills.
