This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated technical leader that excels in a highly collaborative team in a fast-growing HVAC business. This role will be responsible for leading the compressor team. There will be a heavy emphasis on working on sustaining the business, meeting the goals and deliverables related to product support, quality initiatives, productivity goals, PGT including the strategic planning. This team leader will be responsible for implementing the team strategy as it relates to protecting the core business, sustaining current products, and improving current processes to ensure a strong pipeline of product releases. We are looking for a highly effective team player that can develop and sustain an extraordinary level of team commitment and employee engagement. This position will require a strong relationship with the product support and product management team. In this leadership role, strong communication skills will play a vital role in being able to articulate and communicate plans through the teams. The ideal candidate would be highly motivated to perform and grow our business and collaborations across the company.

Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Engineers that specialize in selecting, designing, and sustain compressors.

  • Successfully deliver products and projects related to the SBU compressor business, including the Quality, Delivery and Time indicators.

  • Partner with Product Growth Teams and Design centers to plan and execute the strategy and product roadmap, anticipating and fulfilling the dynamic needs of current and future customers.

  • Develop and execute a multigenerational product plan ensuring that the positioning, pricing, cost, margins, and customer value proposition.

  • Lead efforts to develop and improve tools and processes used for the design and integration of new compressors and components within our Commercial HVAC product lines.

  • Conduct thorough technical and feasibility analysis to evaluate customer requirements and provide engineering recommendations for product customization.

  • Perform and document engineering analysis required to design, verify performance, and reliability of HVAC compressors.

  • Work effectively across functional lines (development, production, design, marketing, suppliers).

  • Engage, develop, and coach team members to ensure that they have the motivation and competencies needed to be successful in current and future roles while fulfilling their ongoing career aspirations.

  • Efficiency leverages global resources, business partners and vendor resources to achieve desired business outcomes.

  • Participate in industry conferences, market studies, and workshops to remain current on market trends, competitor activities, and technological advancements.

  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulations related to the design and application of compressors in commercial HVAC products.

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, as required.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • 5-10 years engineering experience developing new and sustaining products.

  • 2-5 years managing engineering or technical teams.

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required.

  • Master's Degree is preferred.

  • Controls or Applied HVAC product knowledge preferred.

  • 5+ years' experience working with remote overseas engineering teams in addition to teams located here in North America.

Key Skills or Competencies:

  • Awareness and ability to interpret relevant industry standards and regulations, such as UL, IEC, ASME, and CSA, pertaining to HVAC products.

  • Fundamental knowledge of vapor compression HVAC technologies and components using various high, medium, and low-pressure HCFC, HFC and HFO refrigerants.

  • Proven servant leader that emphasizes collaboration, active listening, empathy, and a commitment to personal development.

  • Problem solver that possesses strong analytical and critical thinking skills, allowing them to analyze problems from various angles and develop innovative solutions.

  • Proven track record of leading and successfully delivering complex projects.

  • Ability to manage resources in support of multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.

  • Self-motivated, high energy, servant leader with the ability to initiate, lead and problem solve in-person and virtually.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills

Base Compensation Range is $130,000 - $160,000. Total compensation for this role also will include an incentive plan.

Disclaimer: This base salary range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
