Job Summary:
The Quality Manager will be responsible for the execution and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System through people, process, tools and technology to achieve the quality goals and objectives for the manufacturing site. This person will be responsible to support the quality team and site safety goals and objectives, ensure the site maintains compliance to manufacturing standards such as AS9100 / ISO9001, drives continuous improvement in quality metrics and manufacturing processes, owns and maintains site calibration compliance, and effectively manages a team of engineers, specialists and supervisors. This person will also ensure that all quality related issues with customers are addressed using robust problem-solving methods, support customer audits and interactions, and maintain direct alignment with corporate quality assurance strategies, objectives and management.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
• Execute and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS), including but not limited to Document Control, Quality Records, Auditing (QMS, Process, etc.), Corrective and Preventative Actions, Management Review, Training, Control of Measurement and Test Equipment, etc.
• Work cross functionally to establish QA objectives and develop and implement strategies to meet and exceed business objectives. Ensure alignment of team member roles and responsibilities to execute and maintain performance metrics.
• Maintain all quality certifications (ISO9001:2000,, AS9100C, ISO/IEC17025, NADCAP, etc.) as required by customers and GTC, interface as Management Representative with registrars; ensure timely and effective follow up to any Corrective Actions or Non-conformances.
• Provide direct supervision and leadership to the Quality team, including but not limited to coaching, directing, and developing. Coordinate and prioritize Quality resources based on the needs of internal and external customers.
• Establish and drive a culture of continual Process Improvement within the site while maintaining a global mindset with regard to process standardization. Continuously work to identify and implement opportunities to improve internal processes, tools, and systems.
• Play an integral role in Lean Six Sigma (LSS) and related initiatives, including but not limited to mentoring Six Sigma and Lean Projects, facilitating and participating in Kaizen events, conducting 5S audits, etc.
• Drive the effective and efficient resolution of all quality complaints with robust problem solving methods and techniques (8-D, FMEA, 5 WHY etc.)
• Work closely with Procurement and Supply Chain Management team members to ensure that all Supplier related quality issues are effectively and efficiently resolved; assist Suppliers when needed with robust problem solving methods.
• Collaborate with Corporate and other site Quality Management to share lessons learned, align strategies, and objectives, etc.
• Create, plan, and execute Capex plans for quality cost center - Includes, but not limited to inspection equipment and technology and current equipment upgrades.
• Create and maintain cost center budget to plan.
Required Minimum Qualifications
Education/Certifications: BS degree, related field; Preference given to Engineering discipline/technical field
Skills and Experience:
• 10+ years of relevant QMS development, management and registration (ISO 9001, AS/EN 9100) experience, preferably in a Manufacturing environment
• A focused leader with strong interpersonal and communication skills at all levels
• Proven ability to develop and motivate people and teams
• Ability to work in a cross-functional, matrixedteam environment
• Strong analytical/statistical analysis ability required, including experience with advanced Quality planning tools (FMEA, DOE, DFM, etc.)
• Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects
