We’re currently looking for a high caliber professional to join our team as Vice President, Compliance AML Officer - Hybrid (Internal Job Title: Compl AML Core Officer - C13) based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Compliance Officer, you will play a critical role in leveraging data analytics to ensure compliance with AML regulatory requirements while also driving data-driven decision-making across the Detection Risk Coverage Organization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data-driven solutions that not only enhance compliance efforts but also drive business growth and efficiency.

In this role, you’re expected:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on AML transaction monitoring matters, advising senior management and stakeholders on compliance issues and risk mitigation strategies.

  • Participate in AML risk assessments and audits, assisting in the identification and mitigation of risks.

  • Prepare and submit reports to regulatory authorities as required, ensuring accuracy and compliance with reporting deadlines.

  • Communicate findings and recommendations to key stakeholders through reports, presentations etc..

  • Provide guidance and training to staff on AML transaction monitoring processes, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

  • Utilize advanced data analytics techniques to identify trends, patterns, and insights related to compliance.

  • Design and implement automated compliance monitoring systems to continuously assess and improve compliance efforts.

  • Develop predictive models and algorithms to forecast compliance risks

  • Collaborate with the legal and regulatory team to ensure industry compliance.

  • Provide actionable recommendations based on data analysis to optimize compliance processes.

  • Demonstrate ability to assess complex issues through root cause analysis & has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.

As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:

  • Minimum of 6-10 years of experience in AML compliance, with a focus on transaction monitoring in a financial institution or regulatory agency. Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, data science, statistics, or a related field is preferred.

  • Proven experience in compliance or data science, with relevant certifications (e.g., ACAMS, ICA).

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages such as Python and SQL is a plus.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams at all levels.

  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Experience with statistical modeling, machine learning, and data visualization techniques will be an asset
