IBM SAP Payroll Lead in Krakow, Poland

Your Role and Responsibilities

The BPO SAP Payroll Lead will be responsible for overseeing and co-ordinating all payroll SAP activities performed by the BPO and act as a BPO owner of Payroll SAP. They will act as the centralized point of contact for the KLO team within the BPO team. This role will require the ability to perform critical analysis to determine root cause and resolve process or system errors

The primary job responsibilities include

  • Payroll Processing Troubleshooting

  • Address PCC validations and KPIs issues

  • Address BPO queries with validations/KPIs

  • Implement workarounds if required

  • Payroll and compliance issues

  • Identify the root cause

  • Discuss with key stakeholders and evaluate the criticality and business impact including impact from compliance reporting perspective

  • Identify possible workarounds to progress the payroll cycle

  • Assist BPO to implement the workarounds

  • Data Related Errors/Troubleshooting. For example (not limited to):

  • Review the Workday-EC-ECP integration issues raised by BPO teams

  • Review EC to ECP PTP global and country specific replication issues

  • Review other payroll / tax / compliance data and integration issues

  • Defects or Enhancements

  • Review solutions proposed by KLO (SAP Technical Support) to determine impact to payroll processing

  • Facilitate and perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities including assisting in defining UAT scenarios, data staging, and support documenting the changes implemented

  • Provide supplementary documentation whenever needed

  • Periodic review of global SAP Notes and HRSPs/enhancements

  • Support BPO teams perform HRSP testing

  • Training

  • Identify and provide content for internal training

  • Perform knowledge transition with necessary stakeholders

  • Projects

  • Support inflight and new payroll projects and transformations: Documentation of current state, support requirements gathering, analysis, UATs ,Go live/Hypercare and support transitioning changes to the Operations team members

  • Support in bringing SAP System activities across different countries into the BPO function

  • Other

  • Suggest process and technical improvements to Ops Technical Lead at the end of the payroll cycle

  • Provide weekly updates for all assigned requests and projects

  • Attend weekly Ops and technical calls

  • Support Technical metrics and Monthly debriefs

  • Develop knowledge base of BPO team members

  • Support Google and BPO leadership team to analyze level of support provided by KLO team

  • Coordination of process documentation creation

  • Subject matter expert in assisting the team of Payroll Processors to execute various SAP Payroll tasks as well as supporting the identification of training needs and the delivery of the relevant training courses

  • Identify and coordinate improvements related to SAP Payroll (integrations, repetitive errors, long lasting technical issues, ... )

  • Ensure backup structure is created between the Compliance Lead role and the BPO SAP Payroll Lead to deliver resilience to this role

  • Support Processing in case of critical situations that might impact delivery of the payroll cycle

  • Represent BPO processing team in the next waves project discussions and co-ordinate incoming changes to process design and/or technical changes.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • BA/BS Degree

  • 5+ years' experience working in SAP Payroll implementation or payroll support within a professional services accounting environment or in industry (tech industry experience a plus)

  • Experience in implementing or supporting payroll in one of the following countries: Ireland, Poland, Singapore, UK, Germany, Switzerland, Australia

  • Experience in executing end-to-end payroll using EC Payroll (ECP) or On Premise SAP Payroll

  • Ability to perform critical analysis to determine root cause and resolve process or system errors

  • Understand the compliance requirements from system perspective

  • Familiarity with handling/being involved in Payroll Inputs processing and meticulous attention to detail

  • Ability to work collaboratively, be diplomatic and influence stakeholders, vendors and international teams

  • Proven leadership skills in coordinating cross-functional initiatives

  • Experience and a proven track record of process improvement

  • Fluency in English

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience of working in or leading a payroll SAP team

  • Project management experience

  • Payroll qualifications (e.g. CTA, CIPP, CPP, CA (Chartered Accountant), CPA

  • Fluency/understanding of any of the following languages: German, Polish, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Swedish, Mandarin and Japanese
