Indiana Behavior Analysis Academy ABA Therapist in Kokomo, Indiana
Role and Responsibilities
- Completes RBT online coursework prior to the start of in-person training
- Obtains RBT credential within five weeks or in a time frame determined by supervisor and Director
- Provides direct ABA therapy to learners, following all teaching protocols and behavior intervention plans
- Closely follows therapy, reinforcement, and break schedules as developed by program supervisor
- Uses the least restrictive measures when intervening with potentially harmful behaviors
- Completes all skill acquisition and behavior data entrees or forms before the end of shirt with learner
- Contrives teaching opportunities in every environment and takes advantage of incidental teaching opportunities as they arise
- Assists child with daily living tasks and skills as needed
- Closely monitors the safety and care of the assigned learner during scheduled shifts
- Actively participates in training provided by BCBA supervisor during +5% of scheduled shifts
- Maintains supervision logs and informs supervisors when supervision falls below 5%
- Treats the child with dignity and respect at all times
- Respects the property of the child and IBAA
- Completes daily communication log with parents as requested
- Completes other paperwork or data entry as assigned by Program Manager or Director
- Attends regularly scheduled team meetings and staff training
- Performs duties related to material development and environmental modifications for all learners
- Directs clinical questions of the parents or other multidisciplinary team members to the program supervisor
- Communicates all reportable or noteworthy incidents and occurrences tithe immediate supervisor by the went of the shirt in which it occurred
- Communicate any suspected abuse or neglect as directed by law and follows related company policy
- Maintains client confidentiality per HIPAA privacy rule regulation and company policy
- Follows all company policies and procedures
- Follows the ethical guidelines of a practicing RBT
- Maintains RBT credential
- Maintains good attendance
- Maintains positive, professional relationships with families and IBAA employees
- Maintains a clean, organized work environment
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Applicant must have a high school diploma or completed GED and have the intention of pursuing a bachelor's degree in ABA or related field
- Applicant must have a minimum of one-year experience working with children
- Applicant must have good organizational and time management skills
- Applicant must have strong problem-solving skills
- Applicant must have the ability to maintain boundaries and professionalism
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor's degree in applied behavior analysis or related field OR have at least 2 years of experience in an ABA program
