Job Summary and Description:
This is an opportunity to support power system EMT studies, Harmonic studies, GIC simulations, data analysis, SSO studies and software tool development on projects related to special studies in transmission system planning.
Job Functions:
Work with senior level engineers to support power system simulations, EMT studies, Harmonic studies, GIC simulations, data analysis.
Conducts research and provides the technical expertise and analytics for the modeling and simulation of transmission special studies, in areas including but not limited to steady-state, dynamic, and transient response.
Contribute to EPRI reports.
Supplies technical advice and counsel to other professionals within EPRI.
Assists Project/Program Managers in assessing member needs, formulating technical approaches, preparing proposals, and making presentations.
The Ideal Candidate:
Utility experience in the area of special studies for transmission planning
Direct experience with commercial tools, e.g. EMTP, PSCAD, PSS/E, PowerWorld
Strong mathematics, analytics, and software skills.
Experience with one or more programming languages such as Python or MATLAB is a plus.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Education Level & Years of Experience:
Holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (Master of Science degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or Physics is preferred).
3-5 years of utility work experience preferred.

The salary range for this position is $86,450 USD to $101,850 USD annually.
This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors, including without limitation applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
This role is eligible to participate in EPRI’s annual incentive program. The amount of incentive varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the plan.
