The Security & Network Administrator is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and maintaining the organization's network infrastructure and security systems. This role ensures the availability, performance, and security of network resources while protecting organizational data from potential threats.

responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Network Administration

• Design, configure, and maintain the organization's LAN, WAN, and VPN infrastructure.

• Install, configure, and manage network hardware (e.g., switches, routers, access points).

• Monitor network performance to ensure high availability and reliability.

• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues in a timely manner.

• Plan for network upgrades and scalability based on business needs.

Security Administration

• Implement and manage firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and other security tools.

• Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity and mitigate risks.

• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and necessary patches.

• Manage and enforce secure access controls and authentication systems.

• Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and protocols.

Incident Management

• Respond to network and security incidents, minimizing downtime and data loss.

• Investigate and resolve security breaches and malware infections.

• Create and update disaster recovery and incident response plans.

Compliance and Documentation

• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001).

• Maintain documentation for network and security configurations, changes, and incident reports.

Collaboration

• Work with cross-functional teams to understand and address network and security needs.

• Provide technical support and guidance to staff on networking and security matters.
