Job Description:

About the Role:

As a Millwright you will be tasked with supporting and maintaining ongoing production operations. This includes performing routine preventative maintenance and optimizing equipment for safety, food safety, efficiency, and reliability. The Millwright classification focuses on installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, dismantling and moving packaging and bake end and related equipment and machinery. You’ll add value to this role by performing various functions including, but not limited to:

  • Ensures superior operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements such as cleaning, lubrication, aligning, adjusting, calibrating, and routine maintenance of both a preventative and predictive nature. Perform equipment overhauls and rebuilds. Fabrication of parts as required.

  • Testing, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems involving packaging equipment, labelling, sealing, wrapping, printing, code machines, and related equipment with a sense of urgency to ensure production schedules and requirements are maintained. Participate in continuous improvement projects including the installation and commissioning of machinery

  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories. Anticipates and identifies needed equipment, parts, and supplies and submits requests as necessary. Competent use of hoists, cranes, hand and power tools, measuring equipment, welding tools, etc.

  • Welding, machining and fabricating and maintaining high sanitation standards, housekeeping and cleanliness of the maintenance shop. Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

  • Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Important Details: This is a full-time permanent role on the Night shift, which operates Sunday through Friday from 7:00 PM on Sunday night (11:00 PM during the week) to 7:15 AM each day.

About You:

You’ll fit right in if you have:

  • A valid Industrial Millwright certificate and demonstrated experience in the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment and high-speed packaging systems.

  • Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System. Understanding of electrical systems and controls (PLC's, HMIs, Sensors, etc.).

  • Previous experience within the food or consumer packaged goods industry preferred
