Job Summary and Qualifications

The Manager of Patient Safety is responsible for managing the Patient Safety Program under the direction of the Director of Patient Safety. The Patient Safety Manager will assist with providing leadership and direction in developing a culture of safety and in identifying opportunities and initiative to enhance patient safety. The Manager will assist the director with development of the strategic and operational plans to build prospective, proactive, loss prevention and harm reduction patient safety program.

What you will do in this role:

  • You will assist with facilitating an organizational wide patient safety program to ensure compliance with statutory mandates, regulatory requirements and accreditation standards of professional organizations, i.e., The Joint Commission, Agency for Healthcare Administration, OSHA, etc.

  • You will apply the principles of continuous quality improvement in delivery of services, through measuring, monitoring and assessing patient safety processes and systems.

  • You will participate in and provide leadership for organizational disaster preparedness and patient safety initiatives.

  • You will ensure and contribute to continuity of care through demonstrated use of interdisciplinary team approach to patient care.

  • You will collaborate, share pertinent information with members of the healthcare team regarding the patient safety program.

  • You will ensure staff is educated on established guidelines for reporting a significant medical error or unanticipated outcome in the patient's care which results in patient harm.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Registered Nurse

  • Bachelors Degree
