PACCAR Embedded Engineering is a rapidly expanding organization that is transforming the way control systems and software are developed for commercial vehicle applications. Position Summary

PACCAR’s Embedded Engineering Department, which serves Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF, has an opening for a Quality Engineer – Embedded Systems. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our growing Software Quality team! Be a trailblazer and help establish new processes that will bring our Embedded Engineering team to the next level of productivity and compliance. Job Responsibilities / Functions

  • Ensure Consistency, Completeness, and Traceability of work products

  • Audit work products for correctness in line with procedures

  • Support engineering teams with understanding quality goals and objectives

  • Ensure work products are configuration managed in line with configuration management strategies

  • Maintain knowledge of each team concerning their role, function, and workflow

  • Provide weekly reports on quality data to management and quality personnel

  • Assist with workflow redesign and processes as necessary

  • Travel up to 10% including internationally

    Required Qualifications / Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field

  • 5+ years of knowledge of quality principles including root cause analysis, corrective actions, non-conformances (defects), and continuous improvement

  • Ability to define, produce, and maintain reports

  • Ability to work independently and in teams with excellent problem-solving, communication, organizational, and presentation skills

  • Strong computer skills including project management tools, word processing, flowchart/modeling, presentation, and spreadsheets

  • Willingness to grow personally and professionally in a results-orientated environment

    Desired Qualifications / Skills

  • Familiar with system and software requirements specifications and a working knowledge of requirements management toolsets such as Rational DOORS Next Generation, Rational Rhapsody, and GitHub.

  • Knowledge of software parameters, branching and configuration best practices

  • Knowledge of heavy-duty commercial truck systems and regulations.

  • Knowledge of Automotive SPICE, and V-Cycle compliance and processes.

  • Knowledge of Quality principles including root cause analysis, corrective actions, non-conformances (defects), and continuous improvement.

  • Experience in an investigative or quality auditing position

    Additional Job Board Information

The salary range for the Quality Engineer - Embedded Systems position is $84,000-$131,700 annually. This position is also eligible for a holiday gift. Additionally, this role is eligible for the full range of benefit options listed above .
