Confidential Estate Planning Attorney in Kirkland, Washington

A thriving, financially stable estate/probate/tax law firm is seeking a passionate Estate Planning Associate Attorney. This Associate Attorney role will specialize in estate planning and wealth preservation.

This position offers a strong salary, full benefits, ultimate flexibility: attorneys licensed in Washington State outside of the Kirkland/Bellevue area can work remotely, enjoying the freedom and convenience of a home office. Alternatively, if you prefer an amazing in-office environment with a wonderful team, you can work in-office or hybrid on the east-side at our Kirkland office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Consultations: Conduct estate planning consultations via virtual meetings or in-person, at our Kirkland location. Assess clients' needs and guide them toward making informed decisions about their estate planning goals.
  • Document Drafting: Draft and review wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and more, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Washington State laws.
  • Tax Planning: Advise clients on strategies to minimize estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer taxes.
  • Probate & Trust Administration: Provide support to clients through probate and trust administration processes with care and professionalism.
  • Client Education: Explain complex legal concepts to clients in a way that is easy to understand, ensuring they feel confident in their decisions.
  • Legal Research: Stay current with estate planning laws, performing necessary research to support client needs and ensure top-tier legal advice.

Qualifications:

Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in estate planning law

Licensing: Active bar membership in Washington State

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of state and federal estate tax laws
  • Exceptional drafting and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, whether remotely or in an office setting
  • Proficient with legal research tools and technology platforms necessary for remote work
  • Client-centered mindset, with a passion for helping individuals and families protect their assets

Work Environment:

In-Person Option: For those who prefer working in an office environment, this role can work onsite at our Kirkland location. You'll have the opportunity to work in a convenient, collaborative setting without having to venture to downtown Seattle. Occasional meetings at our corporate headquarters on beautiful Bainbridge Island.

Remote Option: If you are licensed to practice in Washington State and live outside of the Kirkland/Bellevue area, you can enjoy the flexibility of a fully remote position, with all the necessary tools and support provided for seamless virtual collaboration.
