Job Description
The Engineering Technician works under limited direction/supervision and is responsible for testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying the production of electronic products, parts, equipment, and systems, including digital and analog electronic products. This position is performed onsite in Kirkland, WA with a 5x8 schedule.
Responsibilities
Interpret and work in accordance with drawings and schematics, functional and acceptance test procedures, failure reports, manuals, and all other applicable engineering and production specifications.
Perform acceptance testing using a variety of automated testing equipment and special test consoles on newly manufactured products and product returns.
Perform manual testing and interpretation of results from standard and special purpose test equipment such as multi-meters, signal generators, power supplies, bridges, and oscilloscopes.
Troubleshoot PCB assemblies with embedded processors and FPGAs to the component level using lab equipment.
Replace components level solder to J-STD-001 and workmanship to IPC-A-610.
Build product and test cables as needed.
Apply knowledge and experience using reasoning logic to determine root cause analysis to the component level.
Work closely with other teams within the company to ensure integrated and cohesive product development.
Document findings in reports including detailed descriptions of testing performed, resulting failures, and initial root cause investigation results.
Quickly come up to speed on unfamiliar hardware and tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
At least 5 years of experience in industries with a focus on high reliability and compliance, such as aerospace, defense, or medical.
Knowledge of circuit boards, electronic equipment, systems composed of highly integrated components such as FPGAs and microcontrollers, and software, including applications and programming.
Above average personal skills for working directly with our manufacturer and customers.
Great computer, documentation, and organizational skills.
Proficient in soldering to meet the workmanship standard of IPC-A-610.
Self-directed task management.
Fluent spoken and written English.
AA degree in Electronic Technology, or equivalent knowledge through experience or other recognized educational institution (preferred).
Work Environment
Onsite lab and engineering office with a 5x8 schedule, Monday to Friday. The team currently consists of three members and is looking to add two additional headcount.

The pay range for this position is $31.50 - $44.50
