We are now looking for an Engineering Team Lead that will be responsible for overall engineering and the design of project specific Process Control System solutions within the applications engineering field, to meet the requirements of both the end-users and Emerson Process Management business. You will lead and coach the Austrian DeltaV Engineering team to build and maintain an environment, team members enjoy working in and providing the best services and solutions in Austria. In addition to this you could be personally engaged in DeltaV engineering and support activities and act as Control Systems Lead Engineer on assigned projects, focusing on the overall design and engineering of the projects.

I n this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

As Engineering Team Leader:

• Leads, manages and develop the Engineering Team in Austria.

• Develops, applies and introduces new and efficient engineering strategies, methods and services, which support the development and profitability of the Austrian Engineering team.

• Works closely with the Engineering Manager to assure that the required adequate Engineering capabilities and resources are selected and available to support all the Engineering activities within Austria.

• Supports the Engineering Manager to achieve the country specific important metrics for Productivity, Safety, Maturity and the Engineering Management pillars.

• Works closely with the Project Management team in order to agree the course of action necessary to complete the assigned engineering activities in a timely and successful manner within the Project budget.

• Interfaces and coordinates all technical issues relating to Engineering activities with the Engineering team, internal and external clients as required for providing successful services and solutions.

• Ensures that the Engineering team is properly equipped, trained and developed to meet current and planned future business needs.

• Ensures Engineering activities meet standards imposed by safety legislation or by quality requirements.

• Maintains and owns Engineering service related ISO procedures and work instructions.

As Control Systems Lead Engineer:

• Working closely with the Project Manager in order to agree the course of action necessary to complete the assigned project in a timely and successful manner within the engineering budget.

• Leads the Project team in close cooperation with the Project Manager.

• Interfaces and coordinates all technical issues relating to the project with the project team, internal and external clients as required for the successful execution of the project.

• Responsible for the assignment of required engineering activities to project team, monitors the project performance and progress.

• Ensures that adequate and efficient engineering techniques, productivity tools and methods are applied as needed during the project following the PMO standards.

• Responsible for the overall technical correctness of the software and the associated user documentation.

• Responsible for validation activities for DCS qualifications (IQ/OQ/PQ) including test protocol development, execution and reporting.

In Conclusion;

• Provides specialist knowledge on specific technical subjects with the main focus on DeltaV.

• Assists the Sales organization in demonstrations, presentations and Engineering service estimates.

• In this dual role, it is expected that you will work 80% of his time as Control Systems Lead Engineer and 20% as Engineering Team Leader.

For This Role, You Will Need:

• Education: Bachelor’ Degree and a minimum of 7 years experience in a Control engineering project environment as a Lead or Senior Control Systems Engineer in a process industry environment (e.g. Life Science, Chemical, Food and Beverage, Pulp and Paper).

• Language skills: German - fluent, English - good

• Interpersonal skills: Professional attitude, technical orientation, customer focus, team oriented, flexibility and self learning

• Must have a valid car driving license

• Willingness to travel to other world areas (especially Switzerland and Germany) for training or business trips or for longer assignments.

• Should be used to work with modern software tools, applications and engineering techniques.

• Should have the ability to work effectively with colleagues, suppliers and customers either internally or externally to the business, in ascertaining requirements, informing, advising, supporting and consulting, documenting all aspects required in the provision of the department and businesses work you're doing.

• Should have experience with leading the engineering or project teams of minimum 5 engineers.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

• Preferred background Electrical or Process Automation Engineering.

• Knowledge (preferred): GAMP, S88, S95, Validation and Life Science automation experience, MS-Office Applications

• Has strong knowledge of some, preferably all, of the following elements: Process Automation, DCS and PLC, Control strategies and technologies, Commissioning and start-up of Automation (DeltaV) and preferably also about Server, PC and network equipment (Switches).
