Job Summary
The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Texas A&M University-Kingsville invites applications for a full-time, 9-month academic year, non-tenure track teaching position as an Assistant Professor of Practice in Computer Science, starting in Fall 2025. Although this is a 9-month academic position, there are always opportunities for summer teaching. Due to the dynamic and multidisciplinary nature of the EECS department, candidates with cross-disciplinary interests and teaching capacities are particularly encouraged to apply.
The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science offers B.S. degrees in computer science, electrical engineering, and computer engineering; M.S. degrees in computer science, electrical engineering, and mechatronics; and a multidisciplinary Ph.D. program offered by the College of Engineering. Responsibilities
Teaching four courses (sections) each semester at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including repeated sections of the same subjects.
Minimum Requirements
Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field (such as Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering) by the time of appointment.
Preferred Requirements
A background in artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity, data mining, data analytics, bioinformatics, computer architecture, programming, or software engineering.
Start date
Fall (late August) 2025.
