Responsibilities You will serve as a Crane Operator in the Waterfront Crane Division of the Weapons Department (SPK34) at the STRATEGIC WEAPONS FACILITY ATLANTIC (SWFLANT) FIELD ACTIVITY OF STRATEGIC SYSTEMS PROGRAMS. You will move, remove, and position various items to and from the various class of submarines. You will be required to get licensed on each mobile crane used by SPK34. You will be responsible for conducting maintenance and certification/recertification on ballast assemblies and associated support equipment. You will be responsible to utilize the various mobile cranes to load/unload ballast assemblies to/from various ballast assembly transportation fixtures. You may be required to obtain a Class A CDL. You will be required to satisfactorily pass physical requirements necessary to maintain a crane operating license. You will be responsible to possess the skills and knowledge to safely and proficiently operate SPK34 cranes by following the directions and signals given by the rigger/signalman. You will be responsible for carrying out orders and instructions handed out by the Supervisor and/or Work Leaders. You will be responsible for operating various explosive handling wharf cranes.
