WISCONSIN VETERANS HOME Facility Maintenance Specialist in KING, Wisconsin
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Do you have strong mechanical and maintenance skills? This may be the job for you! Under the general supervision of the Buildings & Grounds Superintendent, this position installs, maintains, repairs and replaces electrical-mechanical systems/equipment on the WVHK campus, including food service, laundry, medical, communications, nurse call, lighting, power, heating, ventilating, air-conditioning (HVAC) and refrigeration components. Job duties sometimes involve working in patient care or living areas. Job duties require the ability to move, remove, and install objects, occasionally exerting over 100 pounds of force; climb and work on ladders and/or scaffolding; work with loud, shaking and/or vibrating equipment; and adjust or increase work hours as needed to meet operational needs. Due to the nature of the position, WDVA will conduct a criminal background check prior to an offer of employment. Employment in this position is contingent upon passing a pre-employment tuberculosis (TB) skin test. A 12-month probationary period may be required. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: In their resume, minimally qualified applicants will provide details about their experience performing maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems, components, and equipment. Well-qualified applicants will also provide details about their experience performing maintenance duties in a commercial or healthcare setting.
