Aerotek Egress Technician in Kiln, Mississippi

Aerotek Aviation is looking to hire F-18 egress mechanics for a contract to hire position in Kiln, Mississippi.

Job Description

The Aviation Egress/Ejection Seat Mechanic (AME) is responsible for troubleshooting malfunctions in ejection seats, aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems. Additionally, this role involves performing 728 Day Special Inspections on F/A-18 aircraft.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain aircraft ejection seats, air conditioning systems, canopy systems, canopy jettison/fracturing systems, fire warning/extinguishing systems, environmental systems, and pressurization systems.

  • Troubleshoot oxygen systems, repair and test oxygen regulators and Liquid Oxygen (LOX) converters removed from aircraft.

  • Read and interpret manufacturers' and service maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.

  • Replace or repair worn or damaged components using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment.

  • Disassemble and inspect parts for wear, warping, or other defects.

  • Repair or replace defective parts, reassemble, and install in aircraft.

  • Adjust, repair, or replace electrical wiring systems and aircraft accessories.

  • Specialize in work, repair, and modification of structural, precision, and functional spare parts and assemblies.

  • May specialize in engine repair.

  • Perform other qualified duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Graduate of a military or factory equivalent ejection seat course of instruction.

  • Experience on Martin-Baker ejection seats.

  • Completion of the appropriate T/M/S Navy Skill Specialty Class 'C' school for AME or USMC, USCG equivalent.

  • Experience in the fitting and rigging of aircraft canopy, canopy drive, and locking mechanisms at both 'I' and 'O' levels.

  • Minimum of four (4) years' experience in relevant aircraft/systems and qualification on ground support equipment applicable to the specialty.

  • Current civilian driver's license.

  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance (candidates may start while clearance is in process).

Work Environment

Work in a hangar environment on a day shift, with a standard 40-hour workweek.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kiln, Mississippi.

SCA Contract- $40-50/hr (Depending on Experience) + $4.57 H&W pay + 56 hours of accrued PTO and 80 hours of accrued vacation
