Schedule: Full Time – 4 days per week – rotating weekends

Shift : Day Shift – earliest arrival time is 0500

Candidate must reside within 30 minutes of the facility

The role you’ll contribute:

The Registered Nurse(RN) acts as an essential team member in providing positive and effective care for Cardiac Cath Lab patients as well as Interventional Radiology patients. The RN participates in the everyday workings of the Cath Lab and provides direct patient care for Cath Lab patients

The value you’ll bring to the team:

· Understands and follows hospital policy related to clinical area

· Understands and follows TJC standards for clinical area

· Get patients ready for scheduled procedure

o IV insertion

o Drawing lab work

o Administering pre op medications as required

o Documenting pre op assessment in electronic medical record

· Recover patients after scheduled procedure

o Maintaining appropriate bed rest

o Obtaining and maintaining hemostasis

o Administering post op medications as required

o Providing discharge instructions

o Documenting post care in electronic medical record

· Assist during the procedure as a circulator

o Maintaining sterile field

o Opening packages to sterile field without compromising sterile field

o Opening correct equipment

· Assist during the procedure as a scrub

o Maintain sterile field

o Prepare sterile tables and set ups for procedures in a timely manner

o Assist the physician during procedures as required

o Be able to communicate and anticipate acute patient status changes

o Proficiently utilize tools and equipment required during Cardiac/IR/EP procedures

o Appropriately manipulates the procedural table and imaging equipment

· Provide intra-procedural documentation and patient monitoring

o Document procedure utilizing procedural documentation work flows

o Monitor hemodynamics live during procedures and verbalize acute changes accurately

o Provide specific hemodynamic measurements as required per procedure

· Provide moderate sedation to patients during Cath Lab procedure

o Ensure effective airway maintained by patient during procedure with the ability to intervene if needed

· Take call for emergency procedures with the understanding of on call arrival time requirements

· Provide follow up phone calls to patients

· Provide pre op telephone calls to patients

· Any other duties as assigned

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :

Minimum qualifications :

Minimum of Associates degree in nursing

Valid Texas RN license or qualifying compact state
