JOB SUMMARY

Based in Kewanee, IL, this position reports to the Production Supervisor. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling and wiring electrical switchgear components, such as breakers, relays, transformers, and control panels.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to understand the wiring requirements for switchgear systems.

  • Installing, connecting, and routing electrical cables, wires, and busbars within switchgear enclosures, ensuring proper insulation and grounding.

  • Mounting and securing electrical components, such as circuit breakers, relays, meters, and transformers, according to specifications.

  • Collaborating with engineers and other team members to identify and resolve any wiring or assembly issues.

  • Maintaining accurate documentation of wiring diagrams, bills of materials, and test reports.

  • Adhering to safety procedures and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment.

  • Assisting in the inventory management of electrical components and materials.

  • Keeping up to date with industry trends and advancements in switchgear technology.

  • Following quality control processes to ensure high-quality and reliable switchgear assemblies.

  • Handle other business duties at the discretion of management.

    EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as an technician.

  • Great understanding of quality control principles

  • Excellent manual dexterity

  • Great physical condition

  • Proficiency in using tools and equipment.

  • Ability to read and understand instructions in manuals and blueprints.

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
