We are seeking an experienced STARLIMS Developer/Administrator to join our team and support the installation, development, configuration, integration, and administration of our STARLIMS laboratory information management system. The ideal candidate will be proficient in STARLIMS development, customization, installation on Windows servers, and ongoing system monitoring and support. They will work closely with IT Business Analysts to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions, ensuring alignment with industry standards and compliance requirements.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Provides support/maintenance for STARLIMS in coordination with IT colleagues. Proactively monitor STARLIMS application and services to ensure uptime and smooth operation of critical laboratory processes. Provide troubleshooting and support to end-users, addressing technical issues as they arise to maintain seamless lab operations. This includes reacting to internal alerts, service desk tickets and participating in after hours on call support.
Works with business partners and IT business analysts to diagnose, resolve and document issues related to STARLIMS; document technical solutions and processes for collaboration with developers and IT support resources including managed service providers.
Coordinates with business analysts / IT colleagues on the identification, development, and prioritization of enhancements to the application, system or platform – translating those into technical solutions. Use STARLIMS Scripting Language (SSL) and .NET programming (C#, .NET Framework) to develop and customize system features, reports, and dashboards. Utilize SQL for database querying and management, along with HTML, JavaScript, and XML for web interface development within STARLIMS. Configure STARLIMS modules to meet laboratory-specific needs, ensuring alignment with operational workflows and data management requirements. Leads the development and maintenance of general scripts (Powershell, SQL, etc.), that are used in the support of the business applications in an area. Leads development of ad-hoc SQL scripts or queries, as needed, to gather information requested by business partners. Follow a structured change management process to migrate code changes from development to quality and production environments. Collaborate with business partners to ensure that all changes are documented, tested, and approved before deployment. Creates clear documentation for custom configurations, workflows, and system updates, providing training and guidance to end-users as needed.
Leads project work to maintain/upgrade components of STARLIMS. Install, upgrade or configure STARLIMS on Windows servers, including setup and management of Internet Information Services (IIS) to support application functionality. This consists of items such as OS upgrades, firmware upgrades, database upgrades, application updates/upgrades and hardware/software testing. This involves working across multiple teams, both internal and external.
Follow Corporate and IT policies and procedures. Ensure IT security is consulted regarding projects using new technology, guaranteeing compliance with all auditing, security, data privacy, and PCI regulations.

Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
Experience Required:
Minimum of 10 years of total IT experience required
Proven experience with STARLIMS, including installation, configuration, customization, and support.
Experience in configuring STARLIMS to meet laboratory-specific needs, including setting up workflows, user interfaces, and system preferences.
Experience in integration of STARLIMS with external systems (ERP/SAP, lab instruments, etc.)
Experience with STARLIMS-related reporting / outputs (Crystal Reports, etc.)
Experience with Agile or Waterfall project methodologies.
5+ years of experience in development/configuration and/or support of the STARLIMS application required
5+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server
Strong understanding of Windows server administration and IIS setup for STARLIMS environments.
Preferred experience in or exposure to the SAP QM module
Proven ability working with cross-functional teams, as well as working independently to solve complex problems.
