Job Title: Industrial Electrician

Job Description

Support company maintenance requirements for machinery, facility, and safety initiatives. Maintain proper preventative maintenance schedules and documentation for all shop equipment. Support building system maintenance such as machine shop, compressors, tooling, generators, lighting, fire alarms, and sprinkler systems. Upgrade, repair, and replace machinery parts and components as needed to maintain equipment. Oversee the machinery to ensure it is in optimal working condition. Provide overall company electrical maintenance for machinery and facility upkeep. Assist mechanical assembly with troubleshooting equipment breakdowns and repairs. Ensure compliance with all safety codes and maintain electrical safety records as required by OSHA. Operate machine shop equipment to make repair parts and use electrical instruments to diagnose problems. Perform various repairs to shop equipment, general and finish carpentry, gas welding, cutting torches, electric welding, and maintain water, oil, steam, air, and gas lines. Maintain required housekeeping of the work area and observe all safety rules.

Responsibilities

  • Rebuild gearboxes including identifying and repairing failures related to cams, sprockets, pulleys, bearings, bushings, and various other mechanical components.

  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems including pumps, motors, cooling towers, heat exchanges, valves, and other components.

  • Demonstrate working proficiency with low voltage electrical practices.

  • Demonstrate working proficiency with stick welding and torch cutting.

  • Dismantle machinery or equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts.

  • Inspect used or worn parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.

  • Adjust functional parts of machines, equipment, and control instruments.

  • Repair or replace defective parts.

  • Clean and lubricate parts.

  • Start and run machinery to test their performance.

  • Set up rigging for moving or handling equipment or heavy parts.

  • Design, fabricate, and install new and replacement equipment or components.

  • Take, monitor, and document observations, settings, readings, meters, and gauges as required.

  • Secure and complete required department work order documentation.

  • Maintain required housekeeping in the work area.

  • Follow all safety rules and procedures.

  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in industrial electrical maintenance

  • Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and diagnose electrical issues

  • Proficiency in using electrical tools and instruments

  • Experience with industrial manufacturing equipment

  • Ability to operate machine shop equipment

  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with conduit installation

  • Ability to perform gas and electric welding

  • Mechanical aptitude for working with a variety of machines and equipment

  • Experience with plumbing and pipe-fitting

  • Experience with maintenance in a manufacturing environment

Large wire fence manufacturer. The air is hazy due to constant machine operations, with a non-toxic odor present in the facility. The environment can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Kent, Washington.

The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $79040.00
