Job Description Creates, monitors and coordinates inventory control activities in support of inventory accuracy both within individual plants as well as between them to ensure materials are available to support on-time completion and delivery to the customer. Communicates with production, shipping/receiving and material handlers on actions to take in order to achieve accurate inventory as well as collects and documents the results. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: * Plan and create inventory count reports and lists, monitor inventory locations physically and electronically, organize and administrate inventory control practices, collect and document the data in a neat, organized and logical manner. Work with plant personnel to achieve the desired inventory accuracy results. Determines root cause for inventory errors and makes recommendations based on an analysis of the results. * Interfaces regularly with all plant personnel and coordinates inventory control activities with them accordingly. Assists planners by verifying inventory as needed. * Develops and maintains a standard process or processes for cycle counting. Verifies both cycle counts and inventory transactions performed by plant personnel are correct. Investigates, documents errors, and makes recommendations as needed. Works with the goal in mind of reducing year-end inventory shrink as well as reducing the time to perform physical inventory. * Assists with determining obsolescence as well as physical and electronic removal of obsolescence using acceptable methods. * Assists Production Control department with other duties as needed, including assisting with backing up other Production Control Positions. Qualifications * High school diploma or associates degree required. Bachelor's degree (preferred) * Must be skilled in MS Office specifically Excel and Outlook as well as Word, PowerPoint, etc. * Must be skilled in using an SAP ERP/MRP system to query appropriate data, organize and report out on that data. * Material handling experience using hand held scanners is helpful. * Must be able to create and understand system generated reports regarding inventory and production data. * Must demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills with keen attention to detail. * Must be able to demonstrate strong numerical analysis and data management skills. * 2 - 4 years' related experience in production scheduling and planning, inventory control processes or shipping/receiving/material handling in a manufacturing environment. * Knowledge of manufacturing, production, shipping/receiving and inventory control functions. * Experience in the application of Lean Manufacturing
