JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB ID: 21490 INTRODUCTION: The Police Officer serves as a law enforcement officer at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, operating with full arrest powers under the general supervision of a Police Sergeant. The primary responsibilities include ensuring the personal safety of all individuals on campus, maintaining a peaceful environment to support the University\'s academic mission, preventing and detecting criminal activity, and apprehending individuals involved in such activity. Additionally, Police Officers provide a wide range of services to students, faculty, staff, and the broader community. This is a full-time, non-exempt university staff position on the night shift with expected continuous employment. A one-year probationary period is required. The UW-Parkside Police Department provides 24/7 police and dispatch service to approximately 5000 students and staff on a 700-acre campus. Strong candidates who are not yet certified may be chosen and sponsored by the department at a state approved LESB training academy *The ideal candidate will have experience working in a higher education environment and experience working with diverse multicultural populations.
