Educational Service District 123 Testing Specialist in Kennewick, Washington

Department:            Student Services    * *Location:                  TC Futures - Kennewick, WA Reports To:              Program Administrator of TC Futures Classification:          FLSA Non-Exempt Schedule:                 Monday-Friday (8 hrs. per day / 260 days per year) Rate of Pay: * *           $18.22 *(step 1/year 1) - *$20.51 *(step 5/year 5) *SUMMARY: * The Testing Specialist serves as a liaison to testing agencies and as Examiner or Alternate Examiner for High School Equivalency Exams. This position is responsible for determining the testing schedule; arranging testing facilities; preparing testing materials; communicating assessment information to clients; ensuring integrity of testing environment and materials; administering test and processes test results; coordinating and communicating assessment information to staff, high schools, and community, state and national organizations.   *ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Schedule, administer, and proctor High School Equivalency Exams at TC Futures.
  • Assist in development and implementation of Assessment Services goals; identifies areas for improvement to ensure compliance with program goals, regulations, and integrity.
  • Collaborate with appropriate departments to determine placement testing schedules and implement assessment technologies.
  • Interpret and implement Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA).
  • Register examinees for tests including but not limited to, preparing test materials, reserving facilities, maintaining test records, and processing test results including coordinating the distribution to all applicable parties.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and secure testing environment.
  • Monitor testing experience in a courteous and positive manner.
  • Score and enter results of tests into computer database; maintain records of test use and scores with confidentiality; may process assessment results using alternative measures; may interpret procedures and provide proctoring services.
  • Provide individual testing accommodations for clients with disabilities as needed.
  • Complete reports for District and testing agencies in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that assessment information is current and accurate for District, high schools, staff and clients.
  • Serves as a resource for staff, clients, and the public.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Follow all applicable ESD 123 Board policies and procedures and program requirements.

Supervisory: *None   OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS: Performs related duties as assigned.   *Related duties as required are duties that may not be specifically listed in the Position Description but are within the general occupational series and responsibility level typically associated with the employee's classification of work.   QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED.  
  • Minimum of one year of occupational experience required that demonstrates appropriately related skills to this position.
  • Other requirements:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Windows applications, internet, email, Learning Management System knowledge and computer systems knowledge.
  • WSP/FBI background clearance required upon employment.
