Schedule:Monday - Friday, variable shifts
Rate: $41/hr
This is a temporary position, tentative dates: 10/28/24 - 1/26/25

The Role:
The Correctional Nurse provides Medication Assisted Treatment services to Marion County Jail inmates under the direction of Ideal Option providers and Leadership Team. The following functions have been determined by Ideal Option to be essential to the successful performance of this position which includes but is not limited to:
Perform intake assessments, health evaluation, screenings, and gather necessary health histories and records for MAT Treatment
Assess inmates for suicide risk upon intake and throughout incarceration as needed
Assess inmate health problems and refer to an Ideal Option provider as needed
Verify patient medication and continue per Provider direction
Maintain accurate levels of medication and supplies, documentation of pill counts, including medication preparation and dispensing per DEA standards
Order all needed medication and supplies as needed
Assist with MAT dosing and MAT clinic
Inmate discharge planning, including knowledge of Ideal Option office-based MAT treatment and referral planning
Document medical treatment and services provided; maintain inmate medical records in the Electronic Health Record keeper (EHR) Electronic Clinic Works (eCW) and in paper charts
Assist medical providers in preparing for and conducting clinic
Assist corrections officers as necessary
Respond to emergency situations as needed and refer to higher levels of care
Remain up to date with all policies and procedures.
Work as an Ideal Option team member and uphold professional relationships with Ideal Option employees, as well as external partners.
Work remotely as a nurse on the Ideal Option Nurse Care Team, preforming the following duties:
Supports patients during their initiation phase as they transition to medication for their use disorder.
Available to assist with any medication questions specific to withdrawals, dosing techniques, reviews provider doses and dosing instructions, etc.
Ensure timely communication to providers regarding prescription related issues, dosing questions, and abnormal lab results.
Communicate to patient any changes to plan of care.
Manage correspondences between the call center, providers, prescription teams, and nurse care team to ensure seamless care.
Assist with identified barriers to care and social needs, collaborating with the patient care team to provide appropriate resources.
Responds to patient questions and concerns regarding lab results, prescriptions, and general healthcare inquiries.
Rotating taking after hours nurse calls from patients and address concerns as appropriate.

Requirements
Education and Experience Requirements:
Active RN License AA, RN. BSN preferred·
Must pass corrections Background Screening
Previous MAT or Corrections Nursing experience a plus
