We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pharmacist to oversee prescription dispensing personnel and operations during shifts. The role includes ensuring the proper technique, accurate preparation, and compliance with applicable laws for all pharmaceutical products dispensed. The Pharmacist will perform the final verification for non-sterile and sterile prescriptions, including proper packaging, assignment of beyond-use dates, final inspection of finished products, and providing proper directions for use. Additionally, the Pharmacist will train, coach, and counsel technicians performing non-sterile compounding and participate in the shipping and handling of prescription orders as needed. The ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment is essential.
Responsibilities
Oversee prescription dispensing personnel and operations during shifts.
Ensure proper technique, accurate preparation, and compliance with applicable laws for all pharmaceutical products dispensed.
Perform final verification for non-sterile and sterile prescriptions, including proper packaging, assignment of beyond-use dates, and final inspection of finished products.
Provide proper directions for use on prescriptions.
Train, coach, and counsel technicians performing non-sterile compounding.
Participate in the shipping and handling of prescription orders as needed.
Adapt to a fast-paced and changing environment.
Essential Skills
1-2 years of Pharmacist experience, ideally in a retail or hospital setting.
PharmD degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
Capability to manage varied levels of workload and multiple tasks.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Flexibility and proactivity in meeting patient and company needs.
Self-motivated with strong interpersonal and people skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and The Compounder (PK software product).
Knowledge of QS-1 software is preferred but not required.
Ability to use standard office equipment, including photocopier, fax machine, and telephone.
Knowledge of 3rd party billing.
Work Environment
The position is within a closed-door specialty pharmacy that is temperature controlled. There are two shift options available: 2:30pm-11:00pm Monday-Friday with Saturday rotations, or 10:00am-6:30pm Monday-Friday with Saturday rotations. This role offers an opportunity to transition into a specialty pharmacy environment, away from a retail setting, with the chance to be part of an expansion project and see internal growth.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00
