Accounting Manager (m/f/d)

OTT HydroMet is seeking a full-time Accounting Manager to join our team in Kempten, reporting directly to the Senior Accounting Manager EU.

As the Accounting Manager in our EMEA Finance department, you will be responsible for all relevant financial and accounting activities (General Ledger, YE Close, Audits, Taxes). You’ll work seamlessly with both the business and the global finance organization, working with peers at our other manufacturing sites to identify best practices and standardize processes across the organization.

You will be located in Kempten. This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, allowing you to work remotely Monday and Friday of each week.

Scope and Responsibilities

• Play an active part in a timely and accurate financial close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, commitments and disclosures

• Ensure integrity and timeliness of accounting information by verifying local and US-GAAP compliance and reconciling transactions with appropriate supporting documentation

• Create and maintain a documented system of accounting processes and policies that meets SOX requirements

• Assist/Lead efforts with internal and external auditors during financial, tax, and operational audits.

• Assist with evaluation, implementation, and maintenance of accounting policies, procedures and internal controls to improve efficiency and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable laws and regulations.

• Support the sales and operating functions with financial insight, eg on revenue recognition and stock count

• Responsibility for bank guarantees and letters of credit application process

• Prepare and/or assist the filing of tax returns and other required reports

• Assist in implementation and maintenance of financial software and systems

Essential Requirements of the Job

• Bachelor's degree in business administration with a focus on accounting or commercial education like Indrustriekaufmann/-frau, Steuerfachgehilfe etc.

• Further education as Bilanzbuchhalter, Steuerfachwirt etc. is a a plus but not mandatory

• 5-7 years of relevant professional experience in the international manufacturing industry

• Excellent communicator who can build cross-functional relationships

• Proven experience building processes and scaling workflows

• Fluent communication skills in both German and English

Als Accounting Manager in unserer EMEA-Finanzabteilung werden Sie für alle relevanten Finance- und Buchhaltungsaktivitäten (General Ledger, YE Close, Audits, Steuern) verantwortlich sein. Sie arbeiten sowohl mit den lokalen Funktionen als auch mit der globalen Finanzorganisation zusammen und kooperieren mit Kollegen an unseren anderen Produktionsstandorten, um Best Practices zu identifizieren und Prozesse unternehmensweit zu standardisieren.

Der Arbeitsort ist Kempten. Für diese Position besteht die Möglichkeit eines hybriden Arbeitsverhältnisses, das es Ihnen erlaubt, montags und freitags von zu Hause aus zu arbeiten.

Aufgabenbereich:

• Aktive Mitwirkung an einem zeitnahen und genauen Finanzabschluss, einschließlich Journalbuchungen, Abstimmungen, Verpflichtungen und Offenlegungen

• Sicherstellung der Integrität und Aktualität der Buchhaltungsdaten durch Überprüfung der Einhaltung lokaler und US-GAAP-Vorschriften und Abgleich der Transaktionen mit den entsprechenden Belegunterlagen

• Erstellung und Pflege eines dokumentierten Systems von Buchhaltungsprozessen und -richtlinien, das die SOX-Anforderungen erfüllt

• Unterstützung/Leitung der Zusammenarbeit mit internen und externen Prüfern bei Finanz-, Steuer- und Betriebsprüfungen.

• Unterstützung bei der Bewertung, Umsetzung und Pflege von Buchhaltungsrichtlinien, -verfahren und internen Kontrollen, um die Effizienz zu verbessern und die Einhaltung der GAAP und der geltenden Gesetze und Vorschriften zu gewährleisten.

• Unterstützung der Vertriebs- und Betriebsfunktionen durch finanzielle Einblicke, z. B. bei der Umsatzrealisierung und der Bestandszählung

• Verantwortung für Bankgarantien und Akkreditivanträge

• Vorbereitung und/oder Unterstützung bei der Einreichung von Steuererklärungen und anderen erforderlichen Berichten

• Mitwirkung bei der Einführung und Pflege von Finanzsoftware und -systemen

Das bringen Sie mit:

• Bachelorabschluss in Betriebswirtschaftslehre mit Schwerpunkt Rechnungswesen, oder eine abgeschlossene kaufmännische Ausbildung z.B. Indrustriekaufmann/-frau, Steuerfachgehilfe etc.

• Eine Weiterbildung als Bilanzbuchhalter, Steuerfachwirt etc. ist vorteilhaft

• 5-7 Jahre einschlägige Berufserfahrung in der internationalen Fertigungsindustrie

• Ausgezeichneter Kommunikator, der funktionsübergreifende Beziehungen aufbauen kann

• Nachgewiesene Erfahrung im Aufbau von Prozessen und der Skalierung von Arbeitsabläufen

• Fließende Sprachkenntnisse in Deutsch und Englisch
