MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Assist students and parents in crossing the street
• Report any areas of concern to the campus
• Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor
• Utilize effective communication skills; ensure that all interactions are supportive, courteous, and

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)

Experience:

• None

SPECIAL KNOWLEGDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of pedestrian safety rules and vehicular laws
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions
• Ability to identify and respond quickly to traffic safety hazards

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES:

• None

Tools/Equipment Used:

• Hand-held traffic signs, traffic cones, reflective safety attire

• Prolonged standing

• Constant walking, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, reaching

• Light lifting (less than 15 pounds)

Environment:

• Work outside (prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures, sunlight, and humidity); constant exposure to noise and vehicle exhaust; work around moving vehicles and on slippery and uneven surfaces

• Maintain emotional control under pressure; work with frequent interruption; may work alone
