Dartmouth Health Medical Assistant (MA) - Dermatology in Keene, New Hampshire
As a Medical Assistant you will play a vital role in the smooth operation of the Dermatology department and delivering quality patient care, under the supervision of a registered nurse or provider. You will combine your compassionate nature and technical skills in order to provide a positive patient experience.
Duties to include:
Performs patient intake which may include recording chief complaint, obtaining vital signs, and preparing the patient for provider visit and/or procedure.
Assists the patient in completing required intake surveys orquestionnaires.
May assist provider with procedural setup, patient preparation, and surgical instrument handling. Preparation for procedures may include sterile field setup, aseptic technique, surgical instrument display, and equipment readiness.
Performs disinfection of equipment per manufacturer’srecommendations.
Provides patientwritteninstructions for postoperative woundcare.
Performs proper cleaning of exam rooms and light therapyrooms.
Performs stocking of supplies including verification of expiration dates per organizationpolicy.
Recognizes when appropriate to involve provider for additional patientsupport.
May manage eD-H in-basket messaging and referralintake/processing.Must acquire certification within 3 months from date of hire and/or maintain current Medical Assistant certification through NHA, AAMA(CMA) or AMT (RMA) and CPR certification. Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to relate well at all levels. Medical Assistant Flow-no previous experience required; Medical Assistant Flow/Phones requires a minimum of 1 year of experience.
