The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for a Material Handler, Supply and Logistics, Property Disposal to support our government customer located in Kekaha, Kauai.

Under the supervision of the Property Management Supervisor, the individual will perform the functions of property, disposal, reutilization and storage.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES :

Specific assignments and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following areas:

  • Perform property disposal reutilization and storage functions in accordance with policies and procedures.

  • Performs tasks using MAXIMO and Government DPAS operating systems.

  • Provide clerical tasks within the Supply and Logistics Department.

  • Operate material handling equipment.

  • Maintain files and records related to property disposal.

  • Receives and stores excess property; schedule monthly excess-turn-in weeks.

  • Load and ship out excess property and scrap as required.

  • Keep office paperwork, excess yards and storage warehouse neatly organized.

  • Issue property for reutilization and take in property for long-term storage as required.

  • Reporting excess sales materials, A & D and scrap metal to Defense Logistics Agency (DLA).

  • Post 0507 transfers, as well as disposal information property records in Maximo.

  • Set-up items for sale for DLA contractor which include escorting bidders, releasing property and preparing necessary documentation to provide to DLA.

  • Follow instructions as provided with some proficiency with Computers and Microsoft office programs (Word/Excel/Outlook).

  • Performs all tasks in accordance with verbal and written instructions to the established standards.

  • In addition to the above, perform others task as directed by Supervisor.

    Environment:

  • Must be able to work in inclement weather, including daily exposure to heat and sun glare.

  • General office, outdoor and warehouse environment.

  • PMRF Off-site travel to additional warehouse locations.

    Physical Activities:

  • Must be able to lift, carry, install and remove equipment and peripherals between 25-50 lbs.

    Office conditions are varied and includes physical tasks including lifting, pushing or pulling up to 50 pounds. Physical positions will include but not be limited to walking, repeated stooping or standing for extended periods of time. Environment will include customer contact, confined work areas, with field assignments, sometimes in inclement weather.

    REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION :

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Possess valid state driver’s license.

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE :

  • One (1) year of related experience

  • Aptitude to keep the property disposal area clean and organized at all times as this area will be the focal point of visits and inspections by both internal and external organizations.

  • Must possess an understanding of property control and inventory procedures.

  • Must have basic computer skills.

  • Must be self-motivated and be able to work independently.

  • Must work well with co-workers and customers.

  • Must be capable of operating material handling equipment.

  • Aptitude for clerical typing at 35 words per minute and possess the ability to prepare typewritten documents

  • Must possess the following PC skills: Word, Excel, and Outlook

    REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE :

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Secret security clearance is required. (Applicants selected either must currently possess a Secret clearance or will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout duration of employment.)
