Engineer - Business Intelligence

Minimum Qualifications

• Hands-on expertise with administration of Business Intelligence software (MicroStrategy, Tableau and/or Power BI) including the installation, setup, patching and upgrading of infrastructure, systems and processes

• Practical experience and understanding of Linux (RHEL) and Window’s operating systems on physical and virtual servers utilizing VMWare

• Proficiency with distributed (multi-tiered) systems and relational database design, development, troubleshooting and automated testing

• Thorough understanding of enterprise infrastructure technologies such as Compute, Storage, Network

• Lead and assist with the training and understanding of BI tools to team members and other developers who utilize the reporting platform

• Take part in reviews of individual or team contributions

• Work on prioritized/assigned features for ongoing sprints

• Communicate and work reciprocally with business and development teams to support changes and implementation

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on expertise with Business Intelligence tools such as developer, architect, administration, system health and code migration

• Understanding of metadata repositories

• Experience in developing and troubleshooting with the development of reporting and data visualization with a focus on financial data analysis

• Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with relational database technologies such as Yellowbrick, Oracle, MS SQL, SingleStore (MemSQL), DB2, PostgreSQL

• Function as an active member of an agile team through consistent administration and development practices (tools, components, and documentation)

• Strong analytical and problem-solving, coupled with a continuous improvement mindset

• Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex issues in simple terms to a diverse audience

• Assist team members in the completion of assigned tasks

• Lead training sessions and create comprehensive documentation to empower end users to leverage the Business Intelligence capabilities effectively

• Proficiency in simple scripting commands using programming languages such as Shell or Python

• Find opportunities to adopt new innovative technologies
