We are seeking a dynamic Field Engineer to work onsite at various construction projects across the country. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction, electrical, and field engineering, and will be comfortable working in the oil and gas sector. The Field Engineer position is responsible for supporting the activities of a construction project site in order to ensure projects meet goals related to schedule and budget.
Responsibilities
• Assist Site Superintendent in directing personnel and sub-contractors engaged in planning and executing construction project work.
• Interpret specifications and coordinate various phases of the construction process to ensure goals are met related to schedule and budget.
• Provide knowledge in the areas of electrical, mechanical, structural, civil, and QA/AC. Troubleshoot and answer questions throughout all areas and phases of construction.
• Manage and adjust schedules and material usage as necessary.
• Coordinate with Project Manager and PM Associate to issue purchase orders for all consumables, equipment and outside sub-contractors. Oversee the procurement and delivery of tools, equipment, and materials to ensure continuous project workflow.
• Serve as company representative and field liaison with project staff. Ensure proper flow of communication and issue resolution.
• Evaluate and document all change orders between company and subcontractors
• Continually inspect subcontractor work to ensure project is completed in accordance with design, specifications, schedule, and safety.
• Prepare and review reports that provide information about work progress, material usage, and costs incurred.
• Communicate with project manager regarding day to day activities of the project site.
• Assist Site Superintendent in advising management of potential project problems and assist in resolution.
Essential Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or other technically related field, preferred
Valid Driver’s License with no restrictions is required
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
2-5 years field construction experience preferred.
Industrial field experience preferred
Microsoft Project experience required
AutoCAD experience preferred
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Strong problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
Work Environment
The role involves working onsite at construction projects across the country, up to 75% travel. You will be working in various weather conditions and should be prepared for physical activities related to construction work. The work environment will involve adhering to safety standards and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00
