JOB TITLE: Sr Executive Administrative Assistant

DEPARTMENT: Law and Ethics/Compliance – Kansas City Headquarters

LOCATION: Kansas City, MO

PAY RANGE: $64,500 - $80,600

Scheduled Work Hours: Monday - Thursday in person at 1KC (Kansas City Headquarters) location from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Work from home Friday unless needed in person. Job may require additional hours.

Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Evergy is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Sr Executive Administrative Assistant to support our General Counsel and Chief Ethics Officer and their departments. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive administrative support to the department’s executives, ensuring efficient operations and effective communication. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent multitasking abilities and the ability to learn and adapt.

Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage and maintain executives’ schedules, including coordinating meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements.

  • Prepare and edit correspondence, reports, presentations, and other documents.

  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.

  • Assist in the preparation and filing of legal documents, correspondence, and compliance reports.

  • Coordinate and facilitate communication between executives and departments.

  • Organize and maintain electronic and physical filing systems.

  • Report attorneys’ continuing legal education hours.

  • Assist in the organization and maintenance of company policies and coordinate reviews and approval of same.

  • Conduct research and gather information as needed.

  • Support the planning and execution of departmental events and training sessions.

  • Monitor and manage departmental expense reporting.

  • Perform other administrative tasks as assigned to support the departments’ goals and objectives.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, or a related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an administrative or business role or in an executive support role.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to work as part of a team.

  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality.

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Working Conditions:

Working conditions will be in an office environment. Must be able to work additional hours on short notice.
