ManpowerGroup Shipping Specialist in Kansas City, Missouri

Our client in the logistics industry is seeking a Shipping Specialist to join their team. As a Shipping Specialist, you will be part of the shipping department supporting the team. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Job Title: Shipping Specialist

Location: Kansas City, MO

Pay Range: Based on experience

What's the Job?

  • Schedule transportation for outgoing shipments

  • Coordinate and prioritize all outgoing shipments according to the shipping list, work assignments, customer orders, and other business factors

  • Examine contents and compare with records such as manifests, packing slips, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of outgoing shipment

  • Work and communicate with 3PL for the order process

  • Freight invoice checking and input in ERP

  • Monitor delivery date on time

  • Monitor overdue posting

  • Monitor new order request and process

  • Prepare and pack orders for shipments

  • Ensure proper labeling and placards with all shipments

  • Perform any other tasks as required

  • Confers and corresponds with sales team/carrier to rectify problems such as damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications

  • Carry out printing & shipping process controls to maintain established production efficiencies

  • Check-in, observe and communicate with team members to assess areas needing assistance

  • Efficiently and accurately pick and pack orders for production and prepare for shipment

  • Package custom goods coming off the printing press and stocked products with accuracy according to order pack lists

  • Maintain records of imports and exports

  • Generate shipping documents for all exports

  • Canada shipment arrangement (SFA vs SFA NA)

  • Collect and analyze the freight cost comparison report (all shipment) to operation manager

  • Assist with inventory counts as needed

  • That pertain to hazardous material handling and transportation of ETP goods

  • Maintain appropriate records and documentation as objective evidence to support internal and external audits

  • Competent Authority (Process of applying with the DOT on new explosives/products)

What's Needed?

  • Prefer experience in a shipping/receiving clerk role.

  • Basic experience with computers

  • Ability to work from 8am to 4:45pm, Monday through Friday

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Effective communication skills
