Overview

The Research Business Specialist will have the responsibility of facilitating the management of the day to day financial and administrative tasks involving sponsored projects for a small research portfolio of approximately 1 or 2 divisions with 1-10 active Principal Investigators. They will have direct responsibility for the preparation of financial monitoring reports for grants, contract and clinical trial agreements including tracking project expenditures and commitments and forecasting salary projections. This position supports the Research Business Partners with financial reporting, labor distributions and cost transfers ensuring compliance with Federal rules and regulations.

  • Candidates will not need to reside within the KC Metro in order to be considered for this role.

  • The ideal candidate will have financial management experience.

  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for disseminating research specific financial information to researchers and others.

  • Candidates must have experience managing all aspects of federally funded grants or contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting and financial support of Research Business Partner Team

  • Responsible for the financial administration of assigned sponsored projects

  • Responsible for the initial creation and coordination of a small number of sponsored proposals through MyGrants (research administration systems)

  • Maintain a strong customer-service environment and participates collaboratively

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 1-2 years' experience. 1-2 years in providing financial management services on NIH and other federally funded grants or contracts directly for faculty & physicians in an academic research/hospital environment is required OR

  • High School diploma, or equivalent, or an Associates degree, and 3-5 years' experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $28.20/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

Remote Work/Work from Home

This position is entirely remote or work-from-home. The person hired must live in the Kansas City metro area and may attend on-site meetings, as scheduled.
