Honeywell R&D Scientist III in Kansas City, Missouri
Summary
The R&D Scientist III role is a professional position responsible for performing moderately complex to complex analytical and/or engineering functions on assigned projects of a general nature and limited scope by applying standard mathematical, scientific, and/or engineering technologies.
Duties and Responsibilities
Prepares evaluation reports and analyzes discrepancies to execute solutions by partnering with technical experts.
Independently prepares product or project definitions, and/or lab testing methods.
Partners with internal and external stakeholders to assist in resolving moderately complex to complex design, development, production, and acceptance issues.
Develops procedures to implement proper quality controls.
Performs moderately complex to complex tests/experiments to analyze and correct problems. Independently develops and documents improvements/innovations.
Provides mentorship, advice, and insight to other employees & other engineers/scientists to ensure project and product compliance.
Stays current with relevant emerging technology and business trends.
You Must Have
4 or more years of relevant experience in analytical, scientific, or related technical activities
Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry, Physics or equivalent
Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business
United States Citizenship
Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job
Ability to obtain and maintain, if required for position, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
We Value
Experience with metal dissolution, and/or ICP techniques.
Strong method development skills.
Strong dissolution chemistry knowledge in metals and materials.
Strong Leadership skills and ability to actively contribute to teams or work independently.
Experience in the preparation and presentation of analytical information to all levels of stakeholders.
Experience using MS Office Suite desktop applications, such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
IT skills beyond basic MS Office skills involving sophisticated analytical instrument software, networking, and other computer systems use.
Able to work independently with little to no supervision on all job responsibilities.
Ability to manage multiple assignments and responsibilities concurrently.
Familiar with Six Sigma tools.
