System One Network Field Installation Technician in Kansas city, Missouri

Installation of Starlink and SDWAN network technologies at remote field locations in MO, LA, OK, MS and TX.

Activities / Tasks as part of this role:

  • Site assessments – physically visiting sites (some remote) to capture the site layout, assess connectivity (via app) and recommend positioning of the Starlink antenna for optimal signal

  • Site planning – developing an installation plan which may or may not be unique to the site. The expectation is that a template will be developed for reuse across multiple sites, based on site characteristics

  • Coordination of material delivery to site - They will have material staged at strategic locations but materials will need to be delivered to the site, or to a nearby secured facility for pickup

  • Contractor coordination – any third party contractors that are required to effect the installation on the day of install will need to be retained

  • Installation Scheduling – working with company to agree a scheduled installation date and duration and bringing together all the necessary people at the right time and place to execute the installation plan

  • Commissioning – working with company to agree a scheduled cutover date and time, coordinating the resources on and off site to commission the site - Technical start up, testing and hand over to operations - following company protocols

    Requirements

  • Light construction coordination experience, including remote locations – labor, materials

  • Network / technical skills with Palo Alto ION’s, Starlink routers / technology, and ability to take a template and work with company personnel to test and commission the installed hardware

  • People skills – ability to work with and manage contractors, technical staff, and work within company protocols.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to maintain progress across multiple site installations at various stages of assessment through planning and installation/commissioning

  • eRailsafe certification – a pre-requisite to work on company property

  • Ability to travel to locations which may be remote to perform site assessments and supervise installations as required. Commissioning may involve working off-hours as agreed with company operations, and the individual may be away from their home base for multiple days at a time. It is anticipated that the individual may spend 50-75% of their time away from home.
