Office of Human Resources Management Lead Human Resources Specialist (Employee Benefits) in Kansas City, Missouri
Summary As a Lead Human Resources Specialist, you will perform coaching, facilitating and monitoring duties and provide technical expertise to the Benefits team. Location of position: GSA's Office of Human Resources Management, Kansas City, MO Responsibilities Coach the team in the selection and application of appropriate problem solving methods and techniques. Provide advice on work methods, practices, and procedures; and assist the team and/or members in identifying the parameters of viable solutions. Assist the team in assessing its strengths and weaknesses and provides leadership to the team in exploring alternatives and determining what improvements can be made. Research, learn and apply a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods to identify, assess, analyze and improve team effectiveness, efficiency and work products. Maintain program and administrative reference materials, project files, and relevant background documents and makes available policies, procedures, and written instructions from the supervisor. Keep abreast of changing policies and procedures to answer questions from team members on procedures, policies, directives, etc. Respond to congressional inquiries, OPM, other Federal agencies, and former employee correspondence related to employee benefits and services. Prepare reports and maintains records of work accomplishments and personal administrative information, as required, and coordinates the preparation, presentation and communication of work related information to the supervisor. Failure to disclose this information could result in disciplinary action including removal from Federal Service. Serve a one year probationary period, if required. Undergo and pass a background investigation (Tier 2 investigation level). SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or higher in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience providing technical expertise, advice, and guidance to management, customers, and other human resources specialists, human resources assistants and support personnel on human resources regulations, policies, and procedures in the area of employee benefits.
