Summary
We are looking for a Front-End Developer Intern with exceptional drive, enthusiasm, and eagerness to solve problems to join our team and gain hands-on experience developing web applications. The ideal candidate is a junior or senior in college pursuing a Computer Science degree, or comparable field of study, with strong communication skills. They will be responsible for assisting in the ongoing development efforts surrounding the company’s digital initiatives. This position should possess a good understanding of modern front-end development skills along with a general understanding of back-end concepts to effectively communicate and collaborate with the business for turning requirements into industry competing solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Work with the front-end team of engineers to develop JavaScript applications using modern ReactJS and React hooks.
Assist in architecting and providing technical solutions to complex problems.
Work closely with the business to ensure the company’s digital environment is operational and supports business needs.
Work closely with the internal functional team to support product and roadmap requirements.
Identify and implement process improvement opportunities.
Participate in code reviews, team meetings, and application release updates with vendors and business users.
Ensure compliance with corporate standards.
Support and develop end user training documentation.
Work directly with IT and Business teams to resolve technical issues.
Monitoring of and responding to application support tickets.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Qualifications include:
Applicants currently enrolled in their junior or senior year at an accredited four-year College or university preferred.
Minimum GPA: 3.0
Flexible hours, however, must be able to work inside of core business hours (8AM – 5PM CST). We will work with the student’s availability to determine a satisfactory work schedule.
Solid understanding and related experience developing JavaScript applications using modern ReactJS and React hooks.
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
General knowledge of version control systems, such as Git; experience preferred.
Experience dealing with cross-browser and cross-platform development.
Knowledge of and experience working with RESTful APIs.
Working knowledge of basic UI/UX design and prototype evaluations.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
Qualifications include:
Familiarity of Next.js and Tailwind CSS. Experience with these preferred.
Basic understanding of WordPress and headless CMS technologies or experience is a plus.
Ability to write unit tests and end-to-end tests.
General understanding of cloud technology, preferably Azure.
Understanding of the Agile framework and methodologies.
Working Conditions
Remote or in office presence required if requested.
Position consists of 20-30 hours per week of work.

Attendance - The ability to work as scheduled with punctual attendance, Monday - Friday plus any additional hours/days necessary to meet business demands.
This job requires long periods of sitting in front of a computer on a regular basis, doing repetitive tasks.
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
