Burns & McDonnell company is looking for an Equipment Coordinator to join a team of professionals who work on a wide range of exciting and challenging projects creating world-class designs for Capital Equipment installations in a government manufacturing facility.
Successful candidates will perform various phases of planning, site evaluations, and preparation of construction documentation and plans as part of project teams. Will work primarily gathering equipment information and requirements, then collaborating with the project teams to create equipment plans according to project constraints, design factors or client needs. Description:
Research and compile new equipment data (such as dimensions, utility, maintenance, and clearance requirements, etc.) from manufacturer’s cut sheets as required by the project manager.
Perform local field visits to gather existing site and equipment data (such as dimensions, utility, maintenance, and clearance requirements, etc.) as required by the project manager.
Generate and maintain project equipment database and lists.
Participate in continuous improvement efforts by collecting, reviewing and analyzing equipment data.
Research solutions to project concerns; analyze and recommend solutions to problems.
Collaborate with drafting & design team members to generate equipment layouts in spaces as required by projects.
Performs a variety of manufacturing engineering assignments including quality checks to ensure equipment functionality within the parameters of the engineering design.
Assist with responses to general questions about equipment and database.
Assists in projects from the conceptual phase through design completion, including actively engaging with clients for gathering information.
Assists with modifying and reviewing production documents for a variety of projects including, but not limited to, government manufacturing facilities.
Additional duties include quantity tabulations, Quality Control reviews of documentation, and preparation of written reports.
Assist with tasks that may include filing, scanning, data entry, documentation, PowerPoint presentation.
Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
Able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Security Clearance.
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering; or related Engineering Technology degree from an ABET accredited program is preferred.
Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
Prior internship and/or related consulting experience is a plus.
Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite)
Proficient use of Microsoft Access Database is a plus.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring future sponsorship for employment visa status.
